Re: Sailomat 3040 Self-Steering

If anyone can forward the manual to me I would be very grateful. Mine seems to have not survived the decades that it spend in a dark moist space.

Re: Sailomat 3040 Self-Steering

Hi folks,

did anyone of you guys find out a simple and easy-to-use way of fixing / blocking the oars of the Sailomat 3040 while motoring?

I really love this windsteering system - Most of the time. When there is no or too less wind for my heavy steel full keeler and my electronic autopilot (Raymarine ev-100) has to do the job, the uncontrolled oars of the Sailomat are a pain in the arse.

Cheers from the south Aegean sea,
Uli

I forget my model number, but I just swing the paddle up out of the water and tie it to the vane stanchion with a piece of line. It has a positive stop when almost vertical so you can cinch against it pretty tight.

Re: Sailomat 3040 Self-Steering

Thanks, Ben, but you obviously do not have / use the type 3040. Because this is exactly it's issue: you can't swing the oars up out of the water.

Best regards,
Uli
