I break out the loos gague maybe once a year. For light air days I loosen two turns, for heavy air I tighten two turns. At the end of a day I reset to my base setting. It takes maybe two minutes. This covers my rig tune for everything between 5 and 20kn. If t is blowing less I go fishing, if more then I am not going out for a daysail anyway.

I am much more likely to break out the set of digital calipers than the loos gague however. I have the distance noted between the screws for my base settings, so when I forget to reset them I can always get back to base quickly.
