Re: Profurl halyard swivel failure

Four pairs of circlip pliers must be some magic number. I also ended up with four pairs when I did the lower unit. The internal circlips were nearly inaccessible. To get to one of them, I even made my own points from the stiff wire on one of the little flags the gas company used to mark their pipeline when they dug up my yard.

My bearing had failed due to corrosion. I went back with a 2RS1 bearing, so I have a sealed both sides bearing packed in grease between two oil seals. There is a little more turning friction, but I think it is worth the peace of mind. I also installed a grease fitting where the lead shot plugged grease escape hole was. It seemed like a good idea, but adding grease just blows out the grease seals.

Re: Profurl halyard swivel failure

Good afternoon,
Thank you for having me as a part of this forum.
I am looking for information regarding repairing my Profurl top swivel. My model is 320.
I have read extensively the forum and I have found very useful information! Thank you.
In short, my swivel does not have top or bottom circlips.
It seems to be pressed but I am not sure.
I contacted the Wichard Group with no available answers.
My Profurl is approximately 15 years old.
If you have some time could you please help me find a solution for this problem? Any suggestions?
I have contacted ad well Mauripro. Excellent service!
They have the parts but still no information as of how to disassemble the swivel.
In advance, thank you for your time and help!
