Re: Profurl boom

I have a profurl boom with a rigid vang. Does anyone have any solutions to preventing the wind spilling from the mainsail when the mainsheet is eased? Without a kicker there is no means of controlling the boom. The vang is the original MK4R set up and is required to get the correct mast boom angle for furling. Any tried and successful solutions much appreciated

Re: Profurl boom

I have two of the fixed vangs on my ketch, even though there is no way to adjust the bangs, i have no problem setting the main with the boom all the way out as the boom is kept at 90° to the mast, that gives plenty of leech tension
Maybe your sail is too old?

Re: Profurl boom

I actually use a boom brake too but that is not for leech control
