Interesting question - anyone use a jockey pole with their preventer? That would solve all these geometry problems, which I don't think are all that well solved even when the preventer is rigged correctly. Especially on a boat with aft-swept spreaders.

Bit of a faff, I guess, though.

Jockey pole frequently used on racing boats. Gives you proper geometry on a guy by holding the line outboard.

Mine doubles as a short, light pole for the blade jib.
