New traveller system required for beneteau oceanis

Hi there

I’m a very new yacht owner so looking for help and guidance!

The travel car blew through my traveller track in heavy weather.

I have a beneteau oceanis. The old traveller system was made by amiot but they have been bought by goiot who no longer make traveller systems.

Has anyone solved a problem like this before? How do I find a suitable replacement traveller system?

Thanks

Schaefer and harken make excellent products. I suspect you're looking at a replacement. Can you give more details of the "blew through" part? You might also simply need to replace the traveler car or the cam cleat.

Yes but not personally. My neighbour replaced it with a new system
There are riggers that can fix anything they claim. My jeanneau they had discontinued it entirely. They offered self tacking foresail and in mast furling but have neither of those either.
I do 3D print parts for Beneteau and I’m currently testing a Beneteau Logo Float key.
Beneteau had some dumb cabinet hinges in the 80-90’s. We’re white pot metal and no longer made. Printed in ASA or poly carb they are way stronger. It’s mostly public domain data now. I’m working on a group of soft rubber like rectangular instrument covers.

Thanks Ben.

Yeah I think we need a replacement. The rail itself is marked from where the car was ripped off the rail.

Any ideas how I would I find out what is the replacement Traveller system I need? Do Schaefer and harken do like for like replacements?!

I presume looking at the photo that this is mid boom sheeting and forward of the companionway? If you go on to the Scheafer website and you'll see they have a couple of options that might suit you. Also, my experience with Shafer customer service is they are great if you give them a call. Here's one example of what they offer

Here is what I have on my boat

The limiting factor for you will be if you have access inside your cabin for appropriate backing plates and securing the traveler.

I too would recommend Garhauer; replaced a traveler with a radiused beam a couple of years ago, totally pleased.

Go with Harken. They have a huge range of traveler systems, and one that will fit your needs.

Crash gybe will do that. Happens. And then the hassle of matching, Frustrating that the little traveller sliders have nothing to stop them flying off. The slots could have welded down ends to prevent that happening. But I guess that might cause a broken boom (far worse consequence).
