HEADSAILS - LUFF SIZE TO 25'
Storm jib here for $300 with hanks. Haul down your working
jib or
genoa (using a downhaul can help speed up the process), then hoist a
storm jib. Call Minney's if you're looking for good used
sails. I've bought and
sold with them before and have had excellent results.
The strong suit of
roller furling is not reefing. They can be reefed but it's hardly optimal.
The Pardey's do a trick with a bonneted
jib. Essentially a jib with eyelets reef points on hanks. You downhaul it a few feet to the reef point, secure the new tack and clew, and bundle the excess with ties.
It might sound complicated but there's a hell of lot more going on with a
roller furling system than a bonneted jib or hanks in general.
