Hi everyone,
whenever the
mainsail flaps a lot from one side to the other, the
halyard chafes a lot and it will eat through the
halyard in minutes. I have changed the aluminium sheaves to plastic sheaves, which did not help. I believe that the halyard rubs across the sheaves edge. I am thinking about fitting a restrainer, which will hold the halyard in line with the sheave, like

I am worrying about the stress of the halyard on the restrainer, especially as the halyard will try to move sideways.
Has anyone
solved this issues before?
Thanks
Simon
