Here is how I used to do it on a
Beneteau 21.
Remove
sails.
Slack
Backstays.
Remove
furler pin, and place
furler alongside in a sling.
Prepare 2 lines to connect to cap shrouds through
jib track blocks and tailed on both
jib winches.
Wind a line around gooseneck to stop mast swivel later.
Place line around heel of mast to prevent slipping aft, make off to bow
cleats.
Add main
halyard to topping
lift to end of boom.
Take slack out of mainsheet.
Disconnect backstay, and tame.
Start letting out mainsheet.
The lines around the jib winches to be eased equally to keep mast centered.
Sheet out main retaining 90 degrees between boom and mast.
Mast lowers onto support (in my case roof racks on a SUV)
done.
