On my
Pearson 303 I have this
Lewmar 16
winch on my starboard side of the
companionway where I have the headsail
halyard (clutched) and the main sheet.
Somehow
Pearson thought you only would need one
clutch and no
self tailing winch here.
Does anyone know of
Lewmar ever delivered a 16T
self tailing winch from this era (1987, chrome finish) so I wouldn't have to cleat off the main sheet to make it stay tight? Maybe there's a top you can put on to make it self tailing? The others (40s) all have the self tailing top.
I'd gladly drop in a new winch too if it matches the hole pattern, would rather not make new holes in the roof liner on the inside.
