Iverson dodgers in Anacortes,Bellingham area

I'm up in this damp, green bit of paradise visiting family, and at the same time, on the lookout for some boats with Iverson Design dodgers. They are distinctive in their styling, and most importantly for me, they are incredibly (reportedly) strong. I'm going to be wandering around the marinas in this area, trying to locate some boats with this brand so I can see the details. I spoke with Iverson, but they have done so many, on so many boats in the PNW, that they were unable to steer me to one in particular.

Is there anyone in CF who has a boat in this area and might have an idea of where I can go to find an Iverson dodger? Send me a PM or just post the info on CF and I'll get it on my Android. Thanks.

Re: Iverson dodgers in Anacortes,Bellingham area

Wow! Iverson Designs got back to me with a suggestion to go to the Anacortes Marina to see one example. I walked down the dock and saw at least seven different boats on one dock ALONE with Iverson dodgers and biminis and enclosures. While I was taking some pics, the owner of COYOTE BLUE popped up in the companionway to ask if he could assist me. It turned out to be, no less than, Ed Burnett, the skipper of Alaskan Eagle, the training vessel of Orange Coast College in Southern California. He coUld not have been more gracious or generous, inviting me aboard to shoot all the pics I wanted. I'll post some pics tomorrow, after I'm rested from a full day of excitement. I'm blown away by these dodgers.

Iverson really has an eye for aesthetically pleasing dodgers. They just fit on boats better than most. They are also well built and a reasonable price.

Re: Iverson dodgers in Anacortes,Bellingham area

We had an Iverson's on our last boat and after 3 years still had nothing but praise for it. Truly an example of "you get what you pay for). They even held parts of the frame in place during fabrication (done at the boat" so I could dial in sight lines and head clearance. One of the few boat items that not only met but exceeded my expectations.

I think I should add that if our current had not come with a hard dodger, we would definitely have put another Iverson's on it...

i know that there are probably some folks who think this was a set piece of advertisement, but if that's what is going through your heads, you are abysmally wrong-headed. I just got an e-mail from former San Diegan Michael of CAELESTIS letting me know how happy he is with his Iverson in Seattle. I'm ruined, now. Gotta have one. And thank, all the others of you, for your reassurance.

Please share your pics if possible. I'm looking for ideas and I definitely like what I've seen of Iverson's ideas.

From a guy who did lots of canvas many years ago,( and I just finished my own on my boat ) I am very impressed with Iverson. They have a very unique style and quality is top notch.
I looked at a lot of canvas work over the summer and their work stands out. If I was considering going back to work, which I'm not, I wouldn't mind investing in and starting a business with them here in the Portland area or anywhere in the PNW.

I'll send pics as soon as I get to a wi-fi spot. I couldn't get over how many boats on that one dock were Iverson-equipped, each was different, and each looked terrific.

Your right it does sound kike a set up ad for Inversion but most of you have multiple post over many years so I will bit. I've been looking for a dodger for my 38 so I*'ll give them a call and compare prices. Send the photos when you can. I want to see what makes them so special.

Re: Iverson dodgers in Anacortes,Bellingham area

Brace yourself... they aren't cheap but like I said earlier, you get what you pay for. Perhaps your best way of learning about them is their website: Iverson's Design Inc. as they have an extensive gallery of photos as well as detailed descriptions of their design features.

As I had time to think about this overnight, a few more observations from our three years of ownership came to me:

All canvas was still drum-tight.
No wrinkles in the windows.
Still as solid as when we installed it (i.e., no frame movement or cracked welds).

I am also pretty sure Jason (the owner / founder) moved to So. Cal. ostensibly to open a branch down there, but we all know the real motivation was to get away from our winters here in the Pacific Northwest and turn it into a business expense! I would imagine you can find local examples to see in person by walking some docks. Once you have seen one or two, they are pretty easy to pick out.

Okay, as promised, and thank goodness for wi-fi, here are some pics: Please forgive the lighting, it was late in the day and rainy in Anacortes. These are mostly of COYOTE BLUE, since it most closely resembled my objective, and because I could get so many details from it.

Re: Iverson dodgers in Anacortes,Bellingham area

We have an Iverson's dodger and bimini and are the largest size they can make. We are very happy with it. They are strong, bullet-proof even, and after three years and lots of heavy use including up to Alaska and across the Pacific it all still looks new.

However, Iverson are in the business of cranking out dodgers to fit your boat. They do not do anything else. This includes ANY adjustments or modifications you may find you want/need after the installation. Ours funnels rainwater into the cockpit and I had to call several times to reach Jason (the owner) to see what they could do to fix it. After SEVERAL calls he asked me to send some photos which I did and then.........I never heard from him again.

Disappointed.

Re: Iverson dodgers in Anacortes,Bellingham area

I signed up to get Iverson's dodger and Bimini after seeing them on several boats in my marina and at the boat show. I signed up in June but had to wait until November for them to start work because they are so backed up with orders.

A couple of weeks ago, I got the frames and Jason came and removed my old stuff and installed the new frames with my input. He was very helpful, worked fast, and did a clean job.

Now I wait excitedly till December 15 for him to comeback to fit the canvas. 🎅🏻Click image for larger version
