How to undo gooseneck

I need to take my boom off the mast. It’s an old in boom furler. The goose neck has a stainless steel pin? Bolt? Which I need to get out. Does anyone know how this comes out? Is it screwed in?

No cotter pin.

I would try taking the weight off the gooseneck by chocking the boom in some way, dousing the pin in WD40 then lightly tapping the pin from the starboard side. The port side appears to have a head on it.

My next attempt would be putting a wooden dowel/stick through the eye of the big vertical pin and rotating anti-clockwise and try to feel if it is just pivoting or if possible has threads instead of a pin. Does the boom move freely port to starboard? Probably some corrosion/galling going on from the combination of metals and a non-user-friendly design for servicing.

Also check for any brand names, part numbers, etc to ask about or search for online.

@Yellowtuip, that horizontal pin looks swaged both ends to me, I could easily be mistaken.

Use the main halyard connected to the boom at the gooseneck to take weight off the fitting, WD 40, jiggle it. It might be corroded in, or bent. Put a pry bar in the eye bolt and see if it moves, don't force it, it may bust off. May need to use heat.

If there no cotter pin on the bottom of the vertical pin, could there be a c clip. There has to be something to hold the vertical pin in place besides just gravity.

Provided the ss pin that is capped on port and starboard sides can be lubricated and made loose, you could grind one cap off and drive the pin out. Then just replace the ss pin with a ss bolt.

No, on closer inspection I think you’re right. It looks like a factory-fixed fitting. There are screw heads both in the mast and boom. That may be the only way.
