I made this shackle

Rigged it last season - after 1500-2000nm I've had no problems. About 700nm were sailed in close-hauled conditions - beaufort 6-8.

I was worried about chafe - but I've gotten into the habit of rotating the shackle a little bit every time I raise the sail.

The season is over here inthe Baltic - I'll be having a very close look at it when spring comes and if necessary I'll reeve a new one.
