Hood Stowaway Rebuild?

I'm considering buying a 1980 CSY 44. It's in overall great shape with one major issue. It has a Hood Stowaway inmast furling system installed, but inoperative. The sail is currently removed and stowed, and the furling gear is hanging loose inside the mast. It may only need a rebuild, but to be on the safe side, I'm trying to determine what it would cost if I had to replace the entire system except for the mast & boom. The only guy I know personally to ask is somewhere between Solomon Island and the BVI.

Thanks.

Rob,
Check with Hood in RI. Neighbor had a top swivel fail several years ago, and a replacement was a FedEx away.

Pompanette owns the Hood systems.

I recently contacted them and they were very helpful.

Re: Hood Stowaway Rebuild?

Some years ago I used Eric Pearson in Jamestown, RI with great success. Not sure if he's still in business or not.
