Hatch Latch Issue

I have been using epoxy to re-secure some of the single hatch latches that are stuck on which have come off, but the Sun and high heats in WA has been relentless and one has already failed again a year later.



What is the best thing to use instead of epoxy - 5200?

What type windows? I am pretty sure lewmar used an epoxy on the old style however they have moved away from those..... I had to replace a lens and the new one is attached better on both sides.

A small nut and bolt. Use a blunt drill bit (I seem to have lots of those) to drill the plastic, with hign RPM but slow progress, so it is really melting the hole rather than drilling and cracking. Then finish off with the adhesive of your choice, 5200 being a reasonable possibility. Then the load is off the adhesive.

If that option does not appeal to you, sand or drill holes in the plastic where the latch will be mounted, so the adhesive you choose has more surface to grip.
