Conical Spring for Standing Block

I have several 70 mm Antal standing blocks (called sheaves I think in the Antal catalog).

Two of them have a broken spring. The conical spring keeps the actual block off the deck but it otherwise non-functional. Made from 3 mm SS wire. I think that it can be replaced but Antal does not sell it. They would rather sell new blocks at $280 ea.

Any idea on where to get suitable spring appreciated. Grainger, McMaster no good. Not sure where to go on this one.

I got one from Lewmar but that was a couple of decades ago. You could try Garhauer.

Re: Conical Spring for Standing Block

I think the devil is in the details, the springs are more 'dome' than 'conical' because they ride over a U-bolt of constant width, and then pinch in over the shoulders. OP - Can you provide OD at top and bottom, and overall height?

With so many things there are generic alternatives, but with these I suspect they are built specifically by or for Antal and the best one can hope is to be able to get close.

Re: Conical Spring for Standing Block

Garhauer makes a couple sizes and may be able to adapt if necessary.
