I'm a
code zero virgin. Just setup my new one that's on a continuous
furler. Was really surprised at the
power, the
boat took off.
Keep in mind I have know idea about continous line furlers, first time I've used one was last week, stupid questions may follow.
Its much easier to furl than my standard
furler, can you nearly always furl them by hand? Be difficult to use a
winch if on a
boat starboard tack as the sheet will be controlled on that
winch when
furling. It's a
balmar evolution if that matters.
With the sail furled and the
furling line secured firmly on a cleat I'm assuming the sail can only unfurl if the line slipped on the drum? is it best to
head up front and put a sail tie around the sail?
I see Selden makes a double block jammer setup that attaches to a stanchion allowing you to pull the furling line at 90° ie, your in the
cockpit, anyone use one of these? good/bad?
Basically any
advice on furling this sail in varying conditions would be appreciated.
Also I'm going to add a twing setup as I noticed when I turned down I couldn't get enough tension on the leach with the sheet block so far back, any thoughts on on that. Any thoughts period would be great.
