Catalina 35 furling issues?

Hello from Gatorland! Getting ready to sail my Catalina 35 and wondered if anyone has advice on how NOT to rig the furling main. Should I lube first?
thanks

Is it a Catalina 355? If so, there is a Google group.

So it should have a Schafer 2100 furling unit. The big question is if there is a water flushing hole. If it doesn't have a flushing hole, pay the $144 for a new furling drum. If it does have the hole, flush it with water until it can spin freely. Don't spray any type of lubricant in it. That won't help.

I think it's a furling main, not a headsail furler.
