I have Garhauer
davits, but the
boat is in
Long Island Sound. They are well made, and the
hardware is all sized appropriately for the davits. I bought from
price point, but I think they are as well made as any other stock davits. The only fix I have to do, is to drill and tap the cross bar, where it goes into the "T" fitting on the
outboard end of the davit. There is just a set screw, and it has come loose and the davits spread apart.
If I was ordering davits from Garhauer again, I would have them put another "T" fitting, like the one on the
outboard end, somewhere closer to the boat, so I could put another cross bar in, and use it to mount a couple of
solar panels. They are off the boat now, the cover is on, but I am going to check the boat this weekend, so if you would like any pics, I could take them. They would just be laying on the
cabin sole.
