Anyone know of a US Sailmaker who can make tanbark sails?

Hello to all. I have a beautiful Hans Christian 33 that I have owned for close to two years now. At some point in the next couple of years, I want to replace my mainsail and jib. My current suit of sails is in tanbark dacron, and I would like to keep that look for my next suit. I am having trouble finding a sailmaker who has the option of tanbark dacron. Can anyone here steer me in the right direction? Many thanks in advance.

PS. Current sails are by North Sails, but North no longer offers tanbark as an option.

Schattauer Sails in Seattle does Tanbark sails; hand sewn I believe. They are a very well regarded shop - read their intro; it's interesting.

Schattauer Sails Inc.

Mack Sails in Stuart FL will do tanbark AFAIK. We were happy with the sails they built for us.

Gambell & Hunter in Camden ME do a number of the Maine coasting schooners. Tanbark shouldn't be a problem for them. Most smaller sailmakers buy their cloth as they need it; they don't have rolls of stuff lying around waiting. (Overhead is expensive!) When an order for tanbark comes in, they'll contact their supplier and get what they need then.

The Schattauer boys are superb. Pretty sure they will know your H33 very well. You'll never get better sails. Hand sewn cringles, leather corners etc. Yet they race also.

Any sail maker can buy the Tanbark material and make your sails. The problem is that the cloth makers don't make Tanbark in their better quality material or at least didn't when I looked into it.

Would contact Latell Sails. They do tanbark and even traditional sails for tall ships. Traditional Sails - Evolution Sails Chesapeake

I just ordered some tanbark sails from Sailcrafters in the Minneapolis area.

Like many I believe they order sails from an offshore loft and finish them in house.

They have many traditional sailboats in the Netherlands.
