Hi all, I have 4 - 9ft lengths of track and 8 ball bearing adjustable lead cars which i salvaged off a customers
boat when he put on new
harken hardware, these items are some unknown european brand which came off a X one ton, they are equivilent in size to harkens mid range
hardware but more compact, actually one of the 8 cars is a
Harken and its huge, anyway i plan on installing 2 x 9ft tracks with 2 cars on each conected with a piece of cable on my Lindenberg 26 but first i need to replace the bearings so my question is this, since the cars are probably a size larger than i need with 5/16" bearings would it be ok to use Delrin rather than Torlon balls as there is a huge
price difference, the old bearings were Delrin but may not have been oem,the harken has Torlon, bear in mind that i need about 275 balls and the cheapest i can find Torlon is about .35 each wheras i can get Delrin for about .07 each. My thinking is that i could use torlon on the aft ones which will be used most of the time and delrin on the fwd ones or just go all delrin and see what happens.
