If possible, cutout and make a removable panel to access the
pump. This will give you a visual of the
pump and easy access. Use the impeller puller for your particular
engine. You may have to modify the threaded part of the puller as it may hit the starter. To do this, measure carefully and cut the threaded part. After it is cut, put two nuts on the end of the threads and lock them together very firmly. Now remove the impeller making sure to observe the correct rotation of the vanes. Take a piece of PVC the inside diameter the same as the inside diameter of the pump. Cut it about 3/4 inch shorter then the
depth of the impeller. Fit the impeller in the PVC making sure to lube the impeller first. Line up the impeller with the pump with the protruding end of the impeller towards the pump and fit it in. Once it's started, it will slide right in.
