Please DO NOT! give any stories of he said she said stuff. This will tell it all.

Thanks and at the end of 30 days I will give a report. Thanks !! Linda

PS Just copy and past questions into your window.. Again Thanks
Have cruised with two types:

1. Spectra Ventura 150, not sure what the guarantee was but free factory support was excellent.

2. Installed 2004 by myself, cruiser/owner.

3. One salinity probe failed. Reverted temporarily to a semi manual mode. Factory upgrade was free.

4. Highly recommended.

And the other:

1. Village Marine "Little Blunder". Out of warrantee.

2. Installed 2004 by previous owner. Re-installed 2010 by myself.

3. Water barely meets their very vague specification for volume and TDS. Pressure control is problematic. Horrid design. Heavy, noisy and a power hog. Structure corrodes. Membranes a big project to replace.

4. I wouldn't recommend Village Marine to my worst enemy. The difference from the Spectra is as night is to day. What a piece of junk.

Someday I will swap the two.

Do you know the date when the warranty change occurred. I have looked through my Spectra manuals and there is no mention of the warranty conditions.

I don't have the exact date but I will find out. It's been a little over a year since this has changed. Your 2009 Clark pump is defiantly covered under the original owners life time warranty.

Thanks Tellie.

It's never given me any trouble, but that's nice to know.
It's probably made 40,000 L of water so far.

That's a lot of jerry cans I have not had to lug from shore

Just to keep things balanced, I just had a very good service experience with Village Marine in Ft Lauderdale, AKA Southeast Power. Great service and no extra charges. This was on a Village Marine Little Wonder 200gpd system.

Re: What Brand Water Maker Do You Have and are you happy?

Hi
I installed a Spectra Newport 450 MKII three years ago. Neither the unit nor the labour to install it were cheap. With that said, it is yet to fail & I have been very happy with it. Instead of replacing the filters, I give them a bath in chlorine & water, dry & reuse.
You can buy a water maker designed by a cruiser from Cruise RO Water and Power. It'll make 35 kph cost half the price of a brand name, has no proprietary parts, so you can pick us replacement parts readily. A friend installed one a couple of years ago & he says it works like a dream. You don't have a remote display so it's necessary to open & shut valves etc. but if I had known about it before installing mine, I would have opted for it.

Sorry, but the OP doesn't own the thread. Contrary to the above, this IS the place for discussions and opinions. If the OP wants absolute control over the conversation within a thread, the OP is welcome to start a private forum elsewhere.

Yes! Bash, Your right on here! The OP doesn't own this thread and its an open thread for all to discuss whatever and make conversation..etc. However; in all fairness to a majority of members that want this thread to be of Fact's and Not One's Opinions or here-say is not much to ask fore. That said; There are always going to be a few, that want to steer them from the truth.
Maybe I will just be quit and let the course run. And to those Member's and Supplier's and Vendors that this offends well, I'm SORRY!".

Linda!

would that be the facts according to the manufacturer?

and Not One's Opinions or here-say is not much to ask fore.

would that be the here-say of what people who have parted with their money have to say?
far as I'm considered the only thing worth knowing about a watermaker or any other piece of equipment is the after purchase opinions of the owners!

I think you have hijacked YOUR own thread now though

Linda!

Since I get the feeling that targets taped to my back I'll say it takes an awful lot to offend me. That being said, I'm always willing to help CaptLinda6pack any time you like either on the board or by PM.

Well, your illiteracy is a fact. As, it would seem from casual observation, is your rudeness.

May I point out that someone soliciting free information, as you are, does not usually dictate the format, or, as has been pointed out, "own the thread", particularly when the writing style shows the aptitude of an addle-pated grade schooler.

As a person who is financing his boating habit in part through marketing, I feel qualified to note that it's axiomatic that you don't hector your audience when extracting data points. You take what you can bloody well get in good cheer and copious amounts of gratitude.

You also sent to me a vast, rambling and dyslexic PM to me in error, and failed to acknowledge your error. That's five minutes of unnecessary Rosetta Stoning I'll never get back. You should consider dictation software.

So please consider yourself filtered, brand unspecified, and God help anyone who steps aboard what I suspect is your very bossy boat.

There. Now, I'm happy.

Interesting thread; I shall answer sufficient and to the point posed by the OP question. In the threat title.

I do not have a water maker, and yes I am happy.
I have no additional data points.
