Water in Eberspracher heater

My 8-year old helped me fill water this weekend. A little to late I realised he filled the water into the exhaust of my airtronic diesel heater instead of in the water tank. I drained the exhaust pipe and the heater but it will not ignite. It runs and smoke but won’t heat and stop after a like 5 min. Is there any chance to get it going again or should I replace?

I know nothing about this device, but bet that if you remove whatever it uses as a spark igniter and dry it well, it will likely work then.

Water in Eberspracher heater

This weekend I took the heater out of the boat and dismantled it. It was fairly easy and straightforward. Inside the burner there was water which I dried and the sprayed 5-56 on the whole thing at let it sit for the night. The next day I wiped everything with a cloth, made a new gasket out of gasket material and put everything back together. It fired right up , smoked Like crazy for 5 min and then it have been working as normal again! So I answer my own question: yes it works again ! Click image for larger version
