Vitrifrigo door seal / gasket replacement

Hi there,

I need to replace my door seal on my Vitrifrigo C130L fridge/freezer. I have the replacement seal, but I cannot find out how to replace it and I haven't found any videos or other descriptions of how to do this. Vitrifrigo doesn't respond to my questions.

It's a flap type seal which slides over the edge of the liner and it looks like the liner has to come off - but there are no screws that holds the seal in place, no screws that holds the lining inside the door.

Anyone got an idea?

Have you removed the old one?

The bottom of the door has a removable piece, which allows the front panel to be changed out, you may try that.

Most of the seals I replace are groove and dart style, they just pull out of a slot molded into the liner, the new one will go on better if you lay it flat in the sun for a few minutes.

No I didn't remove the old one yet.

There's a plastic grommet on the outside bottom of the SS frame, is that the one you refer to?

if you can, take some close up pics and post them. ive done many of these but until I see it I cant remember how the gasket fits.

The top picture shows the bottom of the fridge, where the grommet was placed. there's no screw behind the grommet.
The two other pictures show the seal and the flap inserted over the edge of the lining.

Looks like you will need to remove the liner from the door to get the back edge of the new gasket around the outside edge of the liner.



Unless you can slide the new one in the way you took the old one out.


I'll see if I have the info on this at my shop tomorrow and report back.

Thanks, but it’s not the same type of seal. This one slides in over a the edge.

Vitrifrigo replied and says I have to buy a new door.........about 450 $...crazy

The new gasket is on. The inner liner is glued onto the foam inside the door. I used 2 table knifes to lift the liner from the foam and was then able to slide the new gasket on. Took a bit of time and time will show if it’s done correctly. The gasket was about 50$.

Hi Singe Prop, wanted to know if your replacement was successful?
I need a replacement also, and got quoted approx. $1K for replacing freezer and fridge doors! Might as well buy a complete new unit for $1500.

Yes, I ordered a replacement seal from a gasket company. The inner plastic door was glued to the insulation but I was able to pry open a gap between the steel door and the inner plastic. It's quite easy to remove the gasket, but was harder to get on. It slides over the edge of the plastic.
