Vacu flush not pumpuing out toilet

Aloha
Have a vacu flush system with JW series pummp on a VG 4 vacuum generator. It was taking a long time to build vacuum and shut of pump. I figured the duckbill valves needed to be replaced. Replaced duckbill valves and O ring at mating surface of pump to tank. Now the toilet does not drain at all. A big air bubble is seen when opening ball valve. The pump is running.
Going to disassemble it all again today checking to ensure I have installed parts correctly and reassemble. Any suggest on things to correct.
TIA

Mike

And I'll be glad to send it to you again. I'll need your email address to do that 'cuz there's no way to attach anything to a forum post or PM.

Now...about your problem: You said you haveave a vacu flush system with JW series pump. This is the first I've heard of any VF pump other than the S-Pump, so I'm gonna have to do a bit of homework to find out what the difference is. and hopefully what's going on in your system.

So if you'll send me a PM that includes your email address I'll send you a new copy of my "VacuFlush 101" and the VF troubleshooting guide. That'll also make it easier for us to swap questions and answers about what's going on in a version of the VF I've never heard of before!

Re: Vacu flush not pumpuing out toilet

Peg Thanks I sent you a private message this am via this forum with my email address.
Here is an update form Today (Thursday) I found a tear in the bellows and had a spare on board so it has been replaced. The Vacuum Generator (VG) now runs for approx. 12 seconds and shuts off, remains off for 25 seconds and the cycle repeats. I did not notice a drop in the water level in the bowl.
I have the vacuum test plug and gauge and am only getting 7 iches of vacuum as noted on test gauge, with the VG off this reading was stable for 3 hours. See attached picture. I am thinking it has to be the ball valve or seals at the base of the toilet.
I do not know the toilet model and and am trying to ID it so I can order a maintenance kit.
I will verify the model number of the pump/vacuum generator on the label plate tomorrow. I believe it is also called a VG 4. I will take a picture and send along.

Re: Vacu flush not pumpuing out toilet

I have learned a lot about the VG4 and the J-Pump in the last 24 hours. It's the newest generation of Vacuum Generators. It was designed with the same dimensions as the VG2. They just poshed it up a little. The only difference is, of course the style, but it has 2” duckbills vs the S-pump’s 1.5". And they've made some changes in the electrical connections.

I now have the owners manual and a bunch of drawings and instructions that you definitely need but I can't send to you until I have your email address. Meanwhile don't mess with it any more.

Re: Vacu flush not pumpuing out toilet

Left the vacuum tester in over night. Lost 1 in of vacuum in 16 hours so I am assuming it is in the toilet seals I have ordered repair parts. Will update all once I install them.

Re: Vacu flush not pumpuing out toilet

As promised and update after receiving parts. I still have the same problem, the vacuum generator is still cycling approx. every 30 seconds for approx. 12 seconds. With the test plug in the vacuum generator does not cycle so I am sure it is in the toilet.
I have replaced the bowl seal gaskets (set of 2) an the foam floor flange seal. I am have trouble getting the half clam kit together there is a gap that I can not get out. I am not sure if I am installing it correctly. Note that I do have a similar gap on the other toilet onboard. What should the torque be on the T bolts to the deck be?
Over the weekend I will replace the Ball shaft and spring cartridge.

Re: Vacu flush not pumpuing out toilet

As promised an update once all of the repairs were complete. I ended up replacing the ball shaft and spring cartridge the foams deck seal and the bowl seals. This corrected the problem. I wish you could get the o rings for the ball shaft seperately. These O rings and the foam deck seal looked suspect. Thanks for everyones help.
