However, now after everything is bought and installed I reliased that they in fact only have three different kind of ID on the ball valves, 3/4", 1 1/4" and 2" which means that all the 1" and 1 1/2 I bought and installed are more or less in vain since the narrovest point in the the flow will be the narrow place in the valve (i.e. my cockpit selfdrains that is 1 1/2 inch scupper, hose and thruhull are just waste since there will be a 2 inch long narrow point in the "so called" 1 1/2 inch ball valve that will only be 1 1/4 inch in its ID.)

Just wanted to give a warning so none else repeats my misstake and waste money and time down the drain....

Should have gone with groco.

Well I do agree that the marketing sucks and is dishonest. You need to have the knowledge in order to buy the right valve.

The valves are great. Have three 1 1/4” valves for 4 years. They are still as easy to open and close as they where when new. Impressive.

Valves are nearly always smaller inside that the nominal diameter, unless you specifically purchase full port valves. Not news. This is NOT dishonesty.

I agree. Same results with Groco and others unless full flow valves are purchased.

Re: TRUDESIGN - Beaware

I’m sure a Groco 1/2”, 3/4”, 1” do not have the same internal diameter?

Same question for 11/4” and 11/2” ???

Let me know if I’m wrong.

Actually, Groco is generally full port, but many valves are not.

You really don't lose much flow from a single minor constriction, which is why this is common, but it can be a place for clogs to start. For example, sewage is always full port. But fuel and freshwater valves seldom are.

Re: TRUDESIGN - Beaware

And you still think it make sense to sell 1/2”, 3/4” and 1” with the same internal diameter?

The internal diameter on those 3 valves 3/4”

For the 1 1/4” and 1 1/2” the internal diameter is 1 1/4”

Re: TRUDESIGN - Beaware

By sharing a common molded body among multiple thread sizes the production cost is reduced by about 50% i would guess. Maybe more than that. So yes, it makes sense if they want to sell any of these. Otherwise the price would probably be so high it wouldn’t make sense.

How many threads have we seen where cruisers complain about ridiculous prices? This cost saving measure is a very minor thing and not worth doubling or more the price of a valve.
