Troubleshooting Westerbeke Rotary Aire 17000BTU AC

Hello, I'm trying to figure out why my AC is not working. The system is charged with gas, 110V is coming in, and the grounding test on the compressor shows no ground. The compressor is not starting, not even making any noise when power is applied. Any tips on further troubleshooting?

Does the water pump turn on?

Is there voltage on the compressor terminals when you turn the thermostat down?

Thank you guys, I do actually follow the troubleshooting guide and yes, the water pump is running and voltage is there. I am unfamiliar with AC in generał so this one is a challenge, but will make it work :-)

If there is voltage directly on the compressor terminals (not the thermal overload but the actual compressor posts) you may have a bad compressor.

Re: Troubleshooting Westerbeke Rotary Aire 17000BTU AC

Well, mystery solved! After compressor check I ended up swapping capacitors (I have a similar second unit) - no joy, swapping the whole control box - no joy, swapping sensors - nothing, something just didn't make sense. I thought about Sailmonkey comment "direct at the terminals", and followed the wires to compressor terminals as earlier I have checked the voltage coming out of control box since the compressor is not so easily accessible. There you have it - nothing. Well, it turned out to be a no continuity in common ground! How does a straight wire go bad I don't know, but it sure was a simple fix after 2 days of head scratching. Thank you for your input!
