Good one - much easier than the Seifert model, looks as if it should be just as effective and requires only a single screw.

Re: toilet seat side slide stopper?
Needed to replace the seats on my Groco heads due to busted hinges. Checked Defender, a Groco dealer and the Groco seat was $60. Looked closely at the old seat and found a name on it from another company. Googled the name and found the exact same toilet seat at Home Depot for about $10.00.
Regarding the anti sliding. I did that mod to my new seats. Got a pencil and marked the underside of the seat where it lined up with the inside rim of the toilet bowl. Then cut a piece of scrap to fit that curve and screwed it into the bottom of the toilet seat. Very easy, cost me nothing but a half hours time, works perfectly.

Re: toilet seat side slide stopper?
Just get a good seat with metal hinges. This is even a problem with home toilets.
Had that sliding seat issue at home for years. Fitting these (screwed up tight) has absolutely & entirely solved that problem: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Handyfix-Un...8656226&sr=8-2
Might also help on some boat loos??

Re: toilet seat side slide stopper?
They go in the holes in the porcelain that you fit the hinges into, to centre & hold the pins in place.

Re: toilet seat side slide stopper?
I recently bought a new Raritan head, to replace a same model that was 20 years old.
The new seat has stops like you describe, and the hinges are enormous. If you can get the Raritan parts (especially the hinges) they are much beefier than what I had previously found at home depot and the marine chandleries.

An couple pieces from an old HDPE cutting board would be good material for this, easy to cut/drill/countersink and doesn't need a finish. PVC would not be too bad either.

I’m guessing at what you mean by this, but please, please do not send any clarifying photos.

Re: toilet seat side slide stopper?
I nmade a pair out of starboard 5-6 years ago...and they worked perfectly until one side broke (it was a big seaway!). So I made another pair, and installed them when we replaced the head. Cheap, easy...and they work. An absolute no-brainer.

Re: toilet seat side slide stopper?
We drilled holes in rubber stoppers then screwed stoppers into the underside of toilet seat. Good for years of use. Example:

Re: toilet seat side slide stopper?
Try Leesan ( www.leesan.com). Not cheap but they sell the little "L" pieces that solve this problem. Or you could get a few off-cuts of HDPE and make them yourself. But i agree that whatever you do, this is essential bec otherwise you will have to pay out 5-10X as much when th hinges break.
Leesan gives a discount to Cruising Association members.
