Shurflo Extreme Smart Sensor 5.7 Fresh Water Pump 12 VDC

We have a 2008 Shurflo Extreme™ Smart Sensor 5.7 Fresh Water Pump 12 VDC. So far been happy with it. During spring commissioning it is now leaking. Appears to be coming from the pump head. Before I start taking this apart, anyone had any experience with this puppy? Valve assembly gone bad?

It is still pumping fine, reaching pressure, shutting off. It was an expensive pump and I'd rather not toss it.

Thanks!

Re: Shurflo Extreme Smart Sensor 5.7 Fresh Water Pump 12 VDC

Don't have that exact model but do have four different Shurflo pumps on my boat and this one likes like the same type.

All very easy to overhaul. Your leak could be a bad seal or o-ring or even a loose screw. Parts and rebuild kits are also easy to get. As I recall, Defender is an official Shurflo dealer and has all parts for all models.

If you have any questions they also offer very good tech support. If you can't fix the problem you can email them and get a reply from a guy that knows the pumps well.
