Sensor location for top loading fridge

Hi all

I am installing a vitrifrigo compressor and cooling plate, on my top loading fridge. These units come with a digital temperature display.

Mt question is, where in the fridge should I install the temperature sensor?

The original fridge had the sensor in the plate itself, should I do the same with these digital ones?

It’s my understanding it should be beside the plate not touching. .
I had a fridge rebuilt and the sender worked 2 seasons and quit so don’t believe me.

It is surprising how many videos there are of people building fridges but the lack of references to the actual details to complete the installation of the cooling plate
