Sealant for Freshwater Hand Pump

I am installing a Whale Flapper hand pump in my galley and was wondering what type of sealant I should use when I seat the pump? A clear kitchen/home Silicone or something like 4000 or 4200? I couldn't find any recommendation in the manual.

Thanks.

If you're talking about where you install it through the hole in the galley counter top, it should come with a rubber or soft plastic washer for that. None of the faucets in our galley or head are "sealed" to the counter tops. Just makes a bigger hassle if you ever have to repair or replace it in the future.

The pump didn't come with a gasket or washer.

Use a 100% mold/mildew free silicone plumbing caulking. One of the very few applications for which I recommend silicone.
