RFC - the PVC clear check valve

Hi,

I like this clear PVC check-valve (~$10.75 @supplyhouse.com). I plan to use it on my boat replacing those Whale black check-valve that failed so often and so hard to see if the valve is stuck.

There is also a spring loaded version, but I think the non-spring would not reduce in-line flow restriction
(https://www.supplyhouse.com/Red-Flag...No-Spring-Slip)

Has anyone used this clear PVC check valve in their boat? Any comment is appreciated.

What did you end up doing as I am considering the same, or eliminating the check valve as I already have an in-line strainer.

I got the 1" valves, but not yet install. Currently in quarranteen away from by boat.
They look solid.

Yeah I really don’t care for check valves due to the failure modes
