Replacment of Lagoon ball valves

Hi,

About to replace the cheap ball valves the factory installed.
Does anyone know if the threads on the Groco female inline ball valves match a European built boat.
It has straight threads on the through hulls.

I don't know what the threads on your thru-hull fittings are but the threads in Groco ball valves are tapered, not straight. It might work but it won't work well. I suggest you install real flanged seacocks or use Groco Flanged adapters. This way you've got straight threads mating with straight threads and tapered threads mating with tapered threads.

Looking at that install though it would decrease my ID and restrict flow.
On the upside it would be stronger.

No, it shouldn't. The inside diameter of pipe stays the same whether it has straight or tapered threads on the outside. If your thru-hull fittings are NPS threads as they are in the USA, Then using the adapter to attach the NPT threaded ball valve will not reduce the flow.

The problem is we still don't know what threads you're thru-hulls have. If it's not NPS then the Groco Adapters or Seacocks will not work.

Replacing the cheap chrome plated brass ball valves with real bronze valves is a great idea.

Putting good bronze ball valves on the remaining cheap brass through hulls is a terrible idea as the galvanic reaction will corrode the throughulls even faster.

Checked and the through hulls are bronze.

They still look as new, not a mark of corrosion anywhere,while the valves look like crap.
