Refrigerator.... What's Wrong?

I have 2 vitrofrigo refrigerators. One of them is perfectly fine, or at least appears to be.

The other one is concerning to me. The small freezer on top, frosts up so bad... and so fast, that I'm having to defrost every week because it is completely solid ice. The underneath side of the freezer, (where there is a drip tray) has so much condensation on it, that it literally rains down constantly.

As far as I can see there is only one temperature dial. I have it set on the max temp (same temperature as the other refridge).

I have no idea what may be wrong... Any one able to offer up some advice?

have you checked the gasket on the lid? if outside air is constantly getting in, it will ice up faster.

yep. if there are gaps, or the door doesn't snug down on the gasket well you will have more condensation.

Have you had it serviced, or someone recharged the refrigerant recently?

Like previous post, I suspect the door gasket. CLose the fridge door on a dollar bill and try to pull it out. There should be even resistance as you try this all around the door seal.

Yah

Gasket ...air leak

Freezers are always troublesome , they frost up

change to a digital thermostat controller and learn how to use the defrost cycle in the controller

Re: Refrigerator.... What's Wrong?

Just wanted to post back... The gasket was ok.... But they was an air leak caused by a small obstruction in the door. I cleaned, defrosted, and dried out all out. It is now working perfectly. Next, I need to fix my cockpit freezer.... That's not wishing at all anymore.
