Raritan SuperFLush Issue

Be aware the tube wall of the handle on the SuperFlush is very thin and with the handle length and power of the pump is easy to break in a year with normal use. See attached:
Will be inserting a wood dowel in my new one to prevent this. They should thicken the handle tubing.

Re: Raritan SuperFLush Issue

If you haven't already done so, I strongly recommend that you report this problem to Raritan and request a replacement pump handle. Equipment mfrs can only learn about some problems if owners report them, and Raritan is especially attentive to this kind of complaint. If your toilet is less than a year old, you should get a replacement handle under warranty, and it's not unheard of for them to replace something that's a month or two out of warranty. So give 'em a call...and talk to Mac McCoy. 800-352-5630 x 306

I did and a replacement is coming. They are terrific on warranty service. A very pleasant experience with them.

Re: Raritan SuperFLush Issue

I had a Raritan 11 on my boat,
The flange on the pump casing broke off, The one that connects to the drain hose,
A new Raritan pump casing was $300-00 odd dollars,

So I bought a complete jabsco toilet online for $310-00 AUD, Delivered,
Very happy with my new toilet,

Warranty, I dont think so, Its been there 18 years,
I was very happy with the Raritan 11 till it broke the flange,
It never gave any problems of any kind,

I did get showered in 3 week old effluent when I was taking the hose off,
Very crappy job replacing the toilet,
I couldnt pump it clear as the broken flange sent the water up the wall inside he boat,

I would do that if it solves the problem for you.

They should thicken the handle tubing.

It only takes one or two complaints about the same problem to convince 'em that there IS a problem with a particular part and take steps to fix it. They actually discontinued a toilet (the Cricket) because they couldn't make it idiot proof. So don't be surprised if the handles on new models have thicker tubing.

Mr B...I have no idea who might have quoted you $300 + for a Raritan PHII pump housing, but today you can buy the entire pump housing assembly for <$60 USD.

https://www.defender.com/product.jsp?id=1127341

Granted, it would be a bit more in OZ, but 5x more...really????

Re: Raritan SuperFLush Issue

Hi Peggie,

I was looking online and that was the cheapest I could find,
If I had of found that $60-00 USD one I would have bought that instead,
That works out at about $100-00 AUD plus postage,

Too late now, I have my new toilet installed and its working great,

Cheers, Brian,

Re: Raritan SuperFLush Issue

AND, as expected, the new one broke too. Even with the wood dowel I put inside.

Lasted a year. But $30 for a new one is just ridiculous and none in stock at West Marine.

And NO, I don't beat it up, just pump normally.

Re: Raritan SuperFLush Issue

I'd keep the dowel even if it's (hopefully) no longer needed.

Thicker wall, won't fit or I would have put it in anyway.

Re: Raritan SuperFLush Issue

Find a skinnier broom or mop handle and cut it down.
