Re: Question about metal spiral in pipes

i'm thinking he means the reinforcing wire inside plastic pressure hose ?

if so, it's there to strengthen the hose...stop it collapsing under suction or blowing out under pressure

cheers,

Re: Question about metal spiral in pipes

It's primary purpose is to stop it collapsing under suction or from kinking when not under pressure.

Pressure resistant hoses generally have reinforcement which winds both ways to form a net to resist expansion and bursting both transversely and longitudinally.
