Propane plumbing

Hi,

I’m running new 3/8” LPG (propane) lines. I have cooper pipe but I’m wondering if there’s a process or requirements for running gas lines (what we call it in AU) in a marine environment. Photos of current lines would be really helpful.

Be aware that the requirements in OZ are pretty strict, PLUS have changed.
Our boat had a gas certificate, from new. When we bought it second hand last year, that gas certificate was no longer valid, because the rules had changed.
So the gasfitter who installed the first setup (and got approval), then got paid again to rip out his own installation and put in a new system to fit the new rules.

Many different companies sell plastic composite,pvc gas pipes but the guys that are going to certify will want it run in material they are familiar with (normally) I would use plastic if I could so long as it is able to be run where and how you want it but many plumbers are able to install and certify the installation in boats.
Iplex have just stopped making it in pvc in small sizes but other companies still do,poly fittings are too big in a boat

There is an Australian Standard (Part 2: AS/NZS5601.1:2013 Gas installations) Unfortunately all the states do not interpret it the same.
