Raritan makes excellent products, but their support literature leaves a lot to be desired. There isn't a repair manual for the PH II, just the installation, operation and owners manual, which you can download from here: PHII and PHEII - (scroll down to "owners manual") but it doesn't include much of a trouble-shooting guide.

And if you're looking for detailed instructions for installing the rebuild kit, there aren't any, just a parts list and exploded diagram. So you'll need to pay close attention to each part as you remove it, especially to its orientation and (if it matters), the order in which you removed it, so you'll know how the new part goes in. Fwiw, there are TWO versions of the PHII,those manufactured before June of 1992 and those manufactured after June, 1992. Each has its own unique repair kit. The pre-06/92 version needs repair kit PHRKII...post 06/92 needs repair kit PHRKIIC. Only about half the parts in each kit are interchangeable, so you'll want to make sure you have the right one for your toilet.

Other PH II owners should be able to help you diagnose any problem you're having with it...what are the symptoms? Or, you can call Raritan tech support: 800-352-5630.

Re: PHII marine toilet

I learned one thing about my PH II:
Don't turn the valve while you are pumping....

Otherwise they are easy to operate and to maintain.

I lubed mine with a splash of vegetable oil in the bowl now and then.
Worked good but the Head Mistress said it was not a good idea in the long run.
I also poured in some white vinegar now and then and let it sit in the plumbing overnight to break down calcium.

Both of the above are old-wife's tales and worked for me, but there may be better solutions.
