Old Jabsco Manual Head Pump Assembly Replacement

Hi all
Ive got an old Jabsco manual head where the plastic heads on the mounting screws for the top of the pump assembly have all snapped off. The bowl is still in great shape, can I just buy one of the new twist lock pump assemblies or should I replace the whole thing?
Thanks
Gary

Jabsco heads are throw-away items not worth the cost to repair and even if you do, the repair is usually short-lived. Having said that, the cost for a replacement kit for the pump assembly approaches that of a whole new head if you replace with another Jabsco. There are far better choices for a reasonable price.

Jabsco heads always worked fine for us. Every 5 to 7 years you just toss them, and install a brand new one which works fine for the next 5 to 7 years for less than the cost of a set of o-rings for many other marine heads. There's nothing wrong with "throw-away items", if you are prepared to throw them away from time to time, and I'd sure rather throw away something like that than rummage around in its disgusting innards trying to rebuild it.

We've had great luck with them -- flush a little olive oil down them from time to time and they just keep on flushin'.
