No Black Tank ?

i have spent all afternoon looking for my black tank. i opened every inspection hatch, 12 bolts each, only to find fresh water?
(my water tank">fresh water tank must be larger then 100 gallons i was told, its 20' long 8' wide and about 1' deep in the middle.)

the reason i think i have a black tank is,
i have a mercerator
i have a waste pump out
i have Y valves

the hoses lead into the fresh water tank, but when i opened one hatch, it looked as if there were two stainless pipes going forward, and to port.
could it be under the water pump? it looks as if it is drawing water from just beside it.
or could it maybe just have no inspection port?
the mercerator pump is frozen, and the Y valve is stuck to open discharge.

Just plumb it to the fresh water tank, drop in some bleach from time to time, and call it good.

If you have a Y valve, have you traced the head output hose and perhaps the one from the Y valve?

yes they all lead to the engine side of the water tank.

If you trace a hose that leads from the outlet side of the head and then goes into a tank, that is your holding tank. I don't care if it looks like fresh water in there. I don't care if someone told you that it is a fresh water tank. I don't even care if that tank is then plumbed into your sink. If it goes out of the head and into a tank, that tank is your holding tank! Period. End of search.

so i spent the day sucking out and refilling this tank, it is indeed black. the bottom had the crap, the top was fresh. half way full too. but a new problem cropped up today, i have a plugged thru hull. so i took out the mercerator, and i need to go snorkel under the boat.

thats funny, the thought had crossed my mind briefly yesterday to make sure and taste all of the tanks to make sure, then i was like, nnnnoooooo

Smelling should be adequate. If not, close all hatches and portholes in that compartment to minimize airflow. If you still can't tell, find a woman - their sense of smell is 5 times more sensitive than a man's.
