Low water pressure Meridian 411

Just seeking some input on the above. I have a 3.3 gph fresh water pump to supply water for the boat but all taps etc have noticeably lower pressure than it's stablemate. Also getting no flow at all in the forard shower; have checked a number of connections and hoses thus far , but will continue.

Re: Low water pressure Meridian 411

You may have a kink somewhere in one of the hoses, possibly even at the suction side of the pump. disconnect the output hose from the pump, and just use a short bit of hose from the pump to an empty bottle to check the flow. If you still have poor pressure, check the suction part of the hose, then the power supply, then possibly the pump itself is faulty. If the pressure is ok at the pump itself, you may have either a kink, or maybe just to many abrupt direction changes and/or longer runs to your faucets, or undersized hose or connections. also, check to make sure your filter or strainer isn't plugged.

Get a bigger pump. 3.3 Gal/Hour is much too small.

Re: Low water pressure Meridian 411

if the water pressure is low at all the taps it's the pressure switch on the pump does the pressure get better when the pump come on?

if the pressure dies quickly once you open a tap and then bleeds off fast, you have a bad accumlator tank

if the flow is low all the time, check for a clogged strainer

if the problem is only at 1 tap the problem is in that line, check the strainer on the outlet itself before blaming the line

Re: Low water pressure Meridian 411

Hi, not sure if this is the correct place to ask, but given your thorough answer I wanted to ask if the water pressure is low only for the hot water (starts strong and then drops very low within a few seconds) do you have any suggestions on what the cause might be and how I might resolve it. There are no kinks in the line. Thank you.
