Kenyon valve leaks

This one-way valve leaks at the valve portion because it needs a new gasket and I cannot find one. Its very small. Any ideas where to her one? Kenyon doesn't have one.Click image for larger version

Re: Kenyon valve leaks

Have you pulled it apart yet to see why it is leaking?
What is the current gasket made of?
Is there any other sealing around the shaft (packing, O ring etc)?

Unless there is severe corrosion on the shaft, you should be able to repair / make a suitable gasket and replace sealing materials?

Is this a shut off valve or a flow control valve and what liquid does it carry?

Have you a picture of it disassembled?

Re: Kenyon valve leaks

What Wotname said, or.
Do you have room to replace it with a ball valve & a non-return valve?

Re: Kenyon valve leaks

These valves can get hot and may have a small flame erupt at the stem. The threaded cover that is around the turn stem covers a packing that seals the stem from leaking fuel. You may be able to compress the packing by turning the nut tighter. If not, your local hardware store probably has the correct packing.

This is covered in Calder's Boatowner's Mechanical and Electrical Manual.

I find these pressurized alcohol stoves to be very good to cook on.
