Jabsco Electric toilet tripping fuse

I have a Jabsco Compact marine toilet that just suddenly started to trip the breaker. I have not done much investigation yet but wanted to see if anyone here might have some ideas of where to look first. Thanks Patrick

Re: Jabsco Electric toilet tripping fuse

Not surprising. Electrics toilets need to be used very often. Mine will not turn after sitting a week. I turn it off and on and finally it breaks free. (it's quite new) I think the gunk just sticks in the pump without daily use.... you could try a bigger fuse/breaker and see if it will come free (switch off and on not on constant)
or, if old, your pump/motor is bad. If you get it free, run it everytime you are at the boat.

Don't laugh but jabsco/xylem flow control has a toilet wizard on their website. They said this about a fuse:

The pump is blocked/jammed - remove the pump and clear the obstruction.

The is water ingress into the motor or the motor is worn out - replace motor or pump assembly.

Incorrect wire size in causing voltage drop/amperage increase or incorrect fuse size fitted - refer to your models electrical data (see below)

37010 series
Quiet Flush & Designer style series
Deluxe Flush series

I happen to be there looking for a solution to my current problem.

Don't have any other advice to add. Good luck!

Experienced same problem. Found that output tubes (1 1/2") were clogged by buildup of urine/seawater interaction. Tubes were almost closed! Back pressure caused excessive strain on pump causing higher current draw causing ckt bkr to trip.

Solution for us: Replaced tubing; cleaned vented loop. Initiated "flush longer" policy.
Thinking about installing a timer so flushing is auto 20 seconds or so...

This is ONE example for a timer - but pretty costly: Raritan Adjustable Timer

Re: Jabsco Electric toilet tripping fuse

I found most often fuses trip when the pump/hoses get blocked.

Re: Jabsco Electric toilet tripping fuse

svmariane has a good point. A lot of toilet problems are caused by short flushing. Just because it's out of the bowl doesn't mean that it's in the holding tank.
