Issues with our Echo Tec WaterMaker

Good Day. We have an Echo Tec. 1200-AML-3 water maker pulling high amperage and tripping the circuit breaker after 15-20 minutes at no more than 450 psi. Someone more knowledgeable than I went through the system, checked and cleaned all contacts, replaced the circuit breaker. No change. When he was running the system, he put a stethoscope on the motor, the pump body and the pump valves. All parts were humming with no unexpected noise or temperatures. All pump wiring was in order.

Details – Boost pump was pulling .8-.9 amps, high pressure pump c/b was getting warm (120+ f) (that’s why we replaced it) no change. Hi press Pump was pulling 17 amps when engaged and current increased to 22 amps at 450 psi and tripped the circuit breaker in 10 minutes. This is when we noticed that when you first engaged the hi pressure pump the pressure was 180-200 psi. We couldn’t back it off to any lower pressure. Initial current was always 17-18.5 amps. 22 amps gave me 375-400 psi and tripped the c/b.

Any ideas of where we look next?

Re: Issues with our Echo Tec WaterMaker

we have an echo tec 390-AML-1 w/m (and love it)

unfortunately can't really help with your problem other than to say maybe you have a partial blockage on the output side ? (although sure you have looked at this)

otherwise recommend that you contact echo tec in trinidad. we have spoken to them a couple of times and always found them extremely helpful and respond quickly

good luck !

cheers,

We are having the same issue. Did you ever find a solution?

Thanks,
