Installing new Jabsco electric toilet

What is the trick needed to hold the rubber O ring in the correct place while tightening the screws on a Jabsco Quiet Flush electric toilet? Each time I try, the O ring jumps out of the groove as the two plastic faces are pushed together.
Thinking about coating it in peanut butter.

Re: Installing new Jabsco electric toilet

get to auto store and buy a tacky sticky gasket sealer. Not RTV. They will have several things that can be brushed on.

Clean off all grease, brush it on, oring if its not stretched badly should stay in the grove.
