I dry fit a flush thru hull & it's STUCK

I was dry fitting a 1 1/2" Marelon flush thru hull & was happy everything was correct. My happiness was short lived-

I screwed it in until I met moderate resistance. Everything looked good. I just used a piece of 1/8" aluminum across the slots at the opening without any real force. I was unable to unscrew the fitting. I made myself a nice fitting wrench to grab the internal dogs. Reasonable force did nothing, so I used a bigger wrench. I broke the dogs off the inside of the through hull fitting

At this point, my working idea is to make a bushing that will fit inside the through hull & allow me to attack the fitting with a hole saw so I can at least buy another one & move forward.

Ideas welcome!

(If nothing else, I'm pretty good at being a bad example.)

It's threaded into a seacock on the inside. Whatever is most inconvenient- lol

Yeah, that presents a problem.....
I’d try a big pair of channel locks on the outer lip, if that fails, maybe a dremel and cut a groove in the bore. Then a flathead/small pry bar and start working it out.

My guess is you’ve run straight threads into a tapered seacock.

It's flush, so there is nothing to grab on the outside.

The through hull & the seacock are both Marelon, both with NPSM threads. I even dry fit them out of the boat. Apparently I buggered up something on installation, or maybe trapped a little Gremlin in there.

I'll try a Dremel tool.

Cut it on the inside and replace both

Use the mini hacksaw blade holder(orange) to split the t-hull from outside.

Cut slots on the inside to relieve the pressure and it should come out.

Re: I dry fit a flush thru hull & it's STUCK

In the end, I went with my original plan. Cutting a simple bushing & cutting the head off of the through hull with a hole saw took me about 10 minutes, with no harm to anything except the through hull fitting.

Thanks all!
