I was dry fitting a 1 1/2" Marelon flush
thru hull & was happy everything was correct. My happiness was short lived-
I screwed it in until I met moderate resistance. Everything looked good. I just used a piece of 1/8"
aluminum across the slots at the opening without any real force. I was unable to unscrew the fitting. I made myself a nice fitting wrench to grab the internal
dogs. Reasonable force did nothing, so I used a bigger wrench. I broke the
dogs off the inside of the through
hull fitting
At this point, my working idea is to make a bushing that will fit inside the through
hull & allow me to attack the fitting with a hole saw so I can at least buy another one & move forward.
Ideas welcome!
(If nothing else, I'm pretty good at being a bad example.)
