Hot water tank leaking

I found today that my seaward S1200 water tank has sprung a leak. Enough that when I have the water pump turned on, it stays on....and the bilge pump goes crazy.

Am I correct in assuming that it is unlikely to be fixable and should be replaced?

Re: Hot water tank leaking

Hi Denis,
I would suggest first to locate the exact location of the leak.
If it is on anyone of the fittings, for sure it can be fixed.

Re: Hot water tank leaking

Check your pressure relief valve. If it is old or has not been "exercised", the seals may have failed or become obstructed. BTDT...

FWIW...

Re: Hot water tank leaking

I will head down to the boat today and remove the tank and pull the cover off. Unfortunately there is no room to pull the cover in place. I will then be able to determine a plan of action.
