Gulper 320 Pump and Urchin Bilge Pump in Series ?

Is it possible to run a electric diaphram pump and a manual diaphram pump in series. I want the conveince of electric with a back-up pre-installed. This is for gray water from shower/tub. I don't have room for a bilge sump pump system. Boat has been using a manual pump system for 20+ years but the pump needs replacing and the wife asked about electric. I like the idea of both, besides if I don't replace the manual one I'll need to re-do a wall as well.
Thanks
Brad

Probably better to use an input "Y" valve and "T" the output. Put check valves on the outputs to prevent back flow or buildup of contamination. If one pump fails and the output line is still clear you just select the other pump and off you go.
